Porsche unveils the “Belgian Legend Edition”

The first special series of the new 911 (992)

Beyond the Porsche universe, Jacky Ickx is one of the greatest drivers of all time.

For the small community of engineers and pilots who have worked with him in Weissach for almost a decade, he is a true icon.
To celebrate the 75th birthday of the Belgian maestro and to highlight his unique contribution to Porsche's sporting successes in the 1970s and 1980s, the brand decided to create a limited series of the 911 in honor of Jacky Ickx.
The initiative for this project comes from the Porsche importer in Belgium, D’Ieteren.
The idea took shape in 2018 with the arrival of the new 992.
This limited edition is the first special series of the new model, drawing on the talents of the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in order to design a unique creation that pays tribute to one of the greatest drivers in history in the sports car category.
Experts from Porsche Style and D’Ieteren also contributed to the design of this Legend Edition.
The designers have chosen to draw inspiration from the iconic blue and white helmet of Jacky Ickx.
The model chosen, the 911 Carrera 4S, thus sports a dedicated X Blue color, thus becoming the first 992 to benefit from the very popular Porsche Paint To Sample program.

A coat of arms associating the Belgian flag and the signature of Jacky Ickx adorns the B-pillar on the driver's side, evoking the traditional designation of the driver in the world of motorsport.
This exclusive color can also be found on the 20/21 inch Carrera Classic rims.
Highlighted in subtle white accents, these rims are another reference to the helmet of Jacky Ickx, traditionally trimmed with a thin white rim.
Using advanced laser engraving technology, this detail is the result of the work of the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.
The interior features black leather cross stitch Pebble Gray upholstery on the dashboard, storm doors and rear panel, all of which are finished by hand.
Another subtle reference to the pilot in the spotlight is the "X" motif chosen for the topstitching.
Other distinguishing features include the Pebble Gray piping on the 18-axis adjustable Sport seats and the “911” logo on the head restraints, elements not available on standard Carrera 4S models.
The seat backrests are also upholstered in leather, an additional exclusivity of this new Belgian Legend Edition.
Other stylistic elements distinguish this special series, such as the leather-wrapped central armrest with embossing featuring the autograph of Jacky Ickx and the monogram "Belgian Legend Edition" on the carbon footboard protections.
Attention to detail is total, even the key module in the coordinated color features the signature of the six-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The “Belgian Legend Edition” is strictly limited to 75 units, one per year since the birth of Jacky Ickx.

This special series will only be available in Belgium.
