Thar - Jodhpur

With its 7200000 inhabitants it is the second most important city of Rajasthan.

Here we talk about the blue city because many houses are painted in blue.
The color was that of the Brahmins but we are told that in this case the color would have the power to repel insects.
The old town is surrounded by a 70-kilometer wall that protects it from the desert sand.
The tourists that we are will have pleasure to stroll in the small streets where the merchants offer at ridiculous prices different objects.
When I speak of "derisory" prices they will be announced three times more expensive for us than for the natives.
The bargain is considered by the seller as part of the ritual. We will find, in a pharmacy, the famous tiger balm that we will not have to discuss the price because it is already very low for us.
This is an opportunity to buy items that will delight our families and friends when we return.

No question of missing the visit of Fort Mehrangarh from the name of its current owner the maharajah of Jodhpur.
Built on a hill, it opens with a succession of seven monumental doors.
The courtyards follow one another surrounded by palaces with carved facades.
The Fort Museum contains many treasures such as palanquins, nacelles, weapons, miniatures and even a small train, ivory toy.
A magnificent view from the top of the building makes you contemplate the blue city at 720 meters below.
