Zùsto, a substitute product with natural fiber sugar

The Belgian product that combines sweetness, pleasure and health

Zùsto, a sugar substitute made from natural fibers, boosts both body immunity and the taste of other ingredients.
This Belgian culinary invention, hailed by both the medical and gastronomic worlds, is preparing for a healthy and lasting breakthrough with the general public.
In new forms and with an expansion of its range.
To be tasty, healthy and Belgian at the same time: Zùsto seems on the way to succeeding in its win-win-win bet.
Interest in the Belgian sugar substitute is growing in Belgium but also worldwide.
Thanks to its "1 to 1" equal weight ratio, Zùsto advantageously replaces real sugar in all preparations, while reinforcing other flavors.
Zùsto, which consists of natural fibers that promote the intestinal flora, contains no gluten and 75% less calories.
It is approved and advised by the scientific (medical) world which considers it an ideal product in the fight against diabetes and obesity.
The most demanding chefs and pastry chefs also see Zùsto as an ingredient of the future for tasty and healthy recipes.
No confinement for taste and health the difficult moments and measures that affect us in our habits today encourage many of us to spend more time in the kitchen.
Parents, often with their children, couples, but also many hospitality and gastronomy professionals who want to express their gratitude to the caregivers by offering them homemade meals and desserts, have spent the last weeks devoting special attention to concocting delicious recipes.
Thus, they tried to brighten up their daily lives somewhat in this trying environment.
However, many remain concerned about their health and the fear of the extra few pounds that confinement could cause. Under these conditions, a product or ingredient that offers more flavor, but with three-quarters of calories less, is particularly welcome.

Mothers and Fathers Day

Confinement or not, beautiful moments to come such as Mother's Day and Father's Day are also accompanied by sweets.
the context is conducive to spending more time in the kitchen to acquire more experience, perhaps the ideal time has come to discover how Zùsto can claim the first role as a healthy and tasty alternative to sugar, a role that many other products have tried to endorse, but never really succeeded in achieving.
(Much) better than a simple substitute Label Zùsto as an ordinary "sugar substitute"
would overshadow it, given the many additional advantages it has.
It ideally replaces sugar proportionally with a "1 to 1" ratio, which makes it perfectly suitable for all
kinds of preparations, in pastry in particular, but also for other applications, where intense sweeteners, with their higher sweetening power and their different composition, cause many worries to households and amateur cooks.
In addition, Zùsto contains 75% fewer calories than real sugar and no digestible carbohydrates.
Like other bulky sweeteners, Zùsto contains a strong sweetener, which unlike real sugar strengthens rather than weakens the taste of other ingredients, however with significantly less effect on sugar levels, which makes it particularly suitable for diabetics.

A booster in body immunity, rich in fiber

The fiber-rich composition of the product also has a beneficial effect on digestion through healthy stimulation of the intestinal flora.
As a result, Zùsto reduces the risk of constipation, without, however, having a laxative effect, which is more common in other filler sweeteners.
It also increases the absorption of calcium and magnesium and increases body immunity.
Unique, natural and balanced composition Zùsto's unique formula is patented and is therefore carefully protected.
Its balanced and unique composition is based on the following ingredients: polydextrose as a filling agent, soluble fibers such as corn, chicory fibers and sweeteners isomalt, sucralose and erythritol.
The latter ingredient in particular, which unlike other polyols, has no laxative effect, makes Zùsto a balanced "blend" of natural fibers, sugar-alcohols and high-intensity sweeteners.
Approved by the best chefs.
Pastry chefs such as Del Rey, Van Dender, Zuut, The Chocolate Line, Darcis, to name a few, can testify.
They have successfully tested the use of Zùsto in their creations.
The best chefs such as Lionel Rigolet from Comme chez Soi and many others are also happy and grateful for the product.
“When you know how much the best talents in our gastronomy.
In all recipes, the necessary volume of sugar can simply be replaced by the same Zùsto volume.
Uncompromising when it comes to taste and quality, it's very motivating and revealing to be able to count on their support, "added Nico Renmans, CEO and spokesperson for Zùsto.
Taste is the biggest motivator for 90% of consumers (Source Nielsen) when buying a product. Using Zùsto also enhances other flavors in a recipe, where sugar may tend to suppress them.
In addition, with Zùsto all the qualities of cooking are preserved.
With this product, you can also caramelize and even get the "Maillard reaction", which is not possible with other sugar substitutes.

Scientific support

The praise of Zùsto does not only come from the culinary world, several scientists praise the intrinsic qualities of the product. Zùsto is thus supported by a scientific council of professors from the universities of Brussels and Ghent.
Studies by the UZ in Brussels have shown, among other things, that Zùsto reaches a glycemic index (GI) of 22 where traditional sugars score higher than 65.
"Zùsto is a good substitute for all those who want to enjoy products with a sweet taste, while avoiding added sugars," said Prof. Dr. Em. Raoul Rottiers.
Professor Ir. Em. Andre Huygebaert joined Professor Rottiers: “The ingredients in Zusto are all natural and have been tested by the FDA in Europe and the United States.
There is no reason not to market it. "

Good for teething

The appreciation of these authorities for healthcare is part of a wider concern of international health services, which have been fighting sugar for years.
"It is indeed a good thing that the pressure on sugar is increasing, especially when you see how many people in the world have type diabetes, obesity and other diseases such as cardiovascular disease or different forms of cancer,
which can occur partly due to overconsumption of sugar "confirms Nico Renmans, who adds that Zùsto, unlike sugar, is also completely harmless to the teeth and therefore does not cause dental caries.

At the Cheese Cake Factory in Danone and Delhaize

The interest of the foreigner soon became clear.
Well-known brands like the American brand The Cheese Cake Factory, or the brand of chocolate glycemic index (GI) is a measure to indicate how quickly carbohydrates are digested in the intestine and if glucose is absorbed in the blood. A diet with a low GI reduces the risk of chronic diseases.
Britain’s Pure Heavenly Chocolate, French food giant Danone, and the Saudi ice cream company Saudi Ice Cream Factory have already switched to Zùsto to replace sugar in their recipes.
At the same time, Zùsto has also developed on the Belgian market where this ingredient is on the way to offer the perfect solution for many companies, for example, the brand of ice cream Delhaize (low sugar Icecream) is prepared with Zùsto.

Excellent Nutri-scores, glowing reviews

Responsible production
Zùsto's production is mainly in the south of the Netherlands, a few kilometers from the Belgian border.
"In today's world, it is becoming more and more important that a final product is justified from a health point of view, but also that its production method is impeccable from both an environmental and social angle", underlines Nico Renmans.
The company took particular care to ensure that the production of Zùsto was not polluting and that no substance was emitted during the production process.
In terms of logistics, efforts are also being made to minimize transport distances, in particular by working with distributors who also transport other products.
Expansion of the range
Currently, the product is available in an easy-to-use 1 kg package in powder form under the name Zùsto Gourmet. For professional applications, there are also 25 kg bags and for ice cream manufacturers in particular, 25 kg frozen Zùsto bags are also available.
Finally, Zùsto can also be obtained in the form of syrup, but mainly for industrial applications.
Today, the company continues to innovate and is currently exploring a series of new packaging to better meet (future) expectations.
In terms of product development, the focus is on a crystallized version that makes Zùsto even better suited as a granulated sugar substitute for hot drinks, to sprinkle on fruit or other foods.
The typical small sachets for coffee or tea are also under review.
Growing interest from the Zùsto retail trade is available online via the website (zusto.com), the product is also on sale at Makro, Cnudde, Ranson, Hanos and Horeca Totaal.
