Chez Léon

It's always a pleasure to find yourself at one of the mythical tables of Chez Léon. If foreigners from all over the world do not miss a moment of gourmet pleasure during their visit to Brussels, it is certainly the same for us Belgians.

After the sad departure of his inescapable boss

The whole Léon team looking to the future

After the tragic death of the man who embodied the fifth Vanlancker generation at its head, the restaurant Chez Léon (probably the most Brussels frying place in the world) raises a lot of questions about its future. The answer to these legitimate questions is however very simple: nothing changes!

Rudy Vanlancker was a far-sighted man. Several years ago he ensured his succession in the person of his son Kevin, who represents the sixth generation at the head of the family business. In fact, he had already been at the helm of the business for more than a year... Thus, supervised by the real "dream team", formed by the man whom everyone called with respect "Mr. starting with its director Benjamin Javaux (his close friend for more than fifty years), the whole team keeps its eyes resolutely turned towards the future.

Kevin Vanlancker had already begun a first phase of modernization of the extraordinary tool transmitted by his ancestors, among other things in terms of decoration and kitchen layout. More than ever, it is determined to continue these improvements, slowed down due to the health crisis but which have never been called into question. One of the objectives of this work is, among other things, to adapt the restaurant on rue des Bouchers to the new challenges posed by the development of take-out sales and that of home or business meal deliveries.

Unfailingly supported, as much by its loyal clientele as by its financial and commercial partners, Chez Léon is perfectly ready to take up the challenges of pursuing an adventure as gourmet as it is in Brussels, which began in 1893. Maintaining the course of this magnificent vessel, a veritable hymn to belgitude, constitutes the most beautiful tribute that one can pay to Rudy Vanlancker...

In the same way as the sustainability of that other Brussels institution, the Armes de Bruxelles - the other great entrepreneurial success of the family - has been ensured, the unconditional defense of the gourmet heritage of the Capital of Europe remains, against winds and tides, the primary objective of a team of true professionals in the noblest sense of the term.
