September 20, 2019 - The Nintendo Switch family of consoles welcomes a new member today with the launch of the Nintendo Switch Lite that joins its big sister, the Nintendo Switch.
Players now have the option to choose the Nintendo Switch console that's right for them:
• Nintendo Switch: launched in March 2017, the original model of the Nintendo Switch offers three different game modes: the TV mode, placing the console on its dock, the table mode, to play in cooperation or competition by sharing the Joy-Con controllers, and the portable mode.
• Nintendo Switch Lite: A lightweight machine with built-in controls specifically designed to play Nintendo Switch games in portable mode, the Nintendo Switch Lite is available in three colors: yellow, gray and turquoise.

Smaller than the original version of the Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch Lite has built-in joysticks.
It does not have support, and as a device dedicated to portable gaming, it does not have a video output for TV.
The Nintendo Switch Lite is compatible with all Nintendo Switch titles that can be played in portable mode *.
This is the ideal console for players who often have the opportunity to play outside of home and for anyone who wants to play online or in wireless local multiplayer **, via the Nintendo Switch Online service *** with friends or relatives who already have an original Nintendo Switch console.
